Project 365:
This is a simple project I'm undertaking with a few friends. 1 picture per day to document an entire year. We'll see if I can keep up with it. I'm a bit hampered, as I can't take a camera to work due to security restrictions; but I'll get by somehow.

Archer-1 > 11/14: I'm attending the Aerospace Design Expo/Integrated Configuration Management Conf. this week. This is the North American Eagle land speed car. Its a converted F-104 designed to go after the land speed record. I talked to the owners and mechanics for well over an hour about the engineering considerations involved. This car makes the first use of magnetic eddy-current resistance braking.

Totally gave me a chubby. As Holly would say "Its Engineer Porn". Heh.
Archer-1 > 11/15: 30Hz vortex flow, caught in a laser cross-section screen. Puffs of air from the right display chaotic-flow disturbances and subsequent return to stablity.

I could play with a setup like this for DAYS, even weeks.
Archer-1 > 11/16: Last day of the AED Expo; this is the prototype of the new Rocket Racers, which are supposed to start racing next year. It looks like a Vari-EZ with a rocket up its backside. The 'Thunderhawk' will actually seat 4 (small) people; for demo purposes I assume.
Archer-1 > 11/17: At the GENCON gaming convention. I entered the History Anachronisim tournament and finished 5th. Nathan and I also went through a Live Dungeon adventure, which was two of the fastest hours I've ever spent. Our party Pwned the place and I solved the final puzzle. Huge fun! See Misc-06 for more pictures from GENCON.
Archer-1 > 11/18: We attended the Celtic Festival and spent the day listening to a wide variety of great music, including the Boggards, Wives, Wicked Tinkers, Celtic Spring, and the Hooligans. Photo is our friend Don (with Barbara) and JG & Clare in the background. For more photos from today, see the Celtic Festival Gallery or Clare's Corner.
Archer-1 > 11/19: We had the last CGD practice of the year this afternoon. It was the usual fun time; we worked on some new dances and polished some old ones.
Archer-1 > 11/20: This is "Cinder", my Princess-Dog, in her bed, with her toys. She's a German Shepard/Australian Shepard mix. Her coat makes her look like she's been rolling in the fireplace, hence her name. She's very loyal to 'Her' people and will defend us from anything; except, of course, the vacuum-cleaner.
Archer-1 > 11/21: Years back, I was a Marathon runner. Problems with my knee and work pressures made training difficult and I finally stopped. I've got some new orthotics now and they help; Monday I'm getting an in-grown nail attended to. I hope to start running again in December. Don't think I'll ever get back to Marathon level, but you never know. A 5-10K would be nice.
Archer-1 > 11/22: Quiet night at home. Glass of wine and some lasagna from the local deli.
